3 Bite Tacos Restaurant Review – Vero Beach, FL

Hi, it’s Jackson! My family and I recently visited a hot new TexMex spot called 3 Bite Tacos that’s been getting rave reviews and a lot of word-of-mouth praise. Conveniently located near Vero Beach’s airport, this locally owned and operated restaurant promises a “Flavor Fiesta,” and did not disappoint!

The menu created by the establishment’s owner, Alex, showcases a classic but creative blend of bold Texan and Mexican flavors. While the 3 Bite Tacos name definitely clued me into their variety of tacos, I was excited to find that their menu offers a wider range of delectable dishes than I had expected. I also quickly discovered that each tasty item they serve up appeals to the eyes just as much as it does to the palate! Dishes include delicious tacos, pillowy empanadas, fresh chips and salsa, melty quesadillas, hearty burritos and more, all infused with Alex’s signature touch.

The vibrant pops of color around the restaurant from bright accent walls and artwork by renowned New York-based artist, Barry Shapiro, echo the comfortable but zingy vibe of 3 Bite Tacos itself. Regulars can’t say enough about the food, so let’s see if my 3 Bite bites took me to where one of my personal foodie heroes, Guy Fieri, would call “Flavortown.” (Spoiler alert: They did! Bonus spoiler alert: I took more than 3 bites!)

Chips & Salsa

This classic starter of fresh crispy chips came with an assortment of house-made salsas, each distinct in flavor and heat. The hot salsa struck a balance between sweetness and spice, while the mild salsa was refreshingly delicious and eatable by the heaping scoopful. The green sauce — said to be a work in progress — had a rich, buttery taste reminiscent of avocado spread and a lot of promising potential!

Chicken Tinga Flautas

Highly recommended by locals — myself now included — these flautas are a must-try. Two tortillas filled with juicy shredded chicken were lightly fried to achieve the perfect bite of golden, flaky crunch. The exterior was as crisp as the inside was tender, and a side of creamy sour cream provided a refreshingly cool contrast. I would definitely label these flautas as a 3 Bite Tacos “signature dish.”

Ground Beef Quesadillas

Quesadilla at 3 Bite Tacos. TexMex in Vero Beach

A leisurely lunch for one, or a great dish to share as an appetizer, the quesadillas at 3 Bite Tacos are seared till toasty and bubbly, and sliced into four generous pieces. I opted for a flavorful filling of ground beef in my quesadilla, which was accompanied by the ideal assortment of dipping options. Each bite was a savory delight, especially when paired with the homemade pico de gallo, guacamole, red salsa or sour cream (or all of the above)!

Chicken Taco

My sister ordered the chicken taco and was so impressed by its flavor that I had to steal a bite to see for myself. A pair of doubled-up corn tortillas hugged generous chunks of tender, seasoned chicken topped with an unfussy, traditional pairing of crumbled Cotija cheese, onion and cilantro. Ranging from skirt steak to lengua, a variety of taco fillings and toppings are available to choose from, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this tried-and-true classic.

Bañuelos

Ending our meal on a sweet note was a must after savoring such bold flavors, so we tried the recommended bañuelos. These deep-fried tortillas dusted with cinnamon and sugar are a dessert take on a nacho chip. In fact, they reminded me of a crispy, deflated version of the elephant ears you might enjoy at a carnival or fair. This sweet but light dessert was the perfect ending to an already great meal.

3 Bite Tacos may be new to Vero Beach’s restaurant scene, but with their incredible quality of fresh, flavorful cuisine, I have a feeling they’re here to stay for a long time to come! All the good things I’d heard about this new TexMex destination were 100% true…with maybe one exception: 3 Bite Tacos‘ tacos are more like “7 or 8 Bite Tacos” — with each bite more delicious than the last!

Jackson Harbin

Hi, I’m Jackson Harbin and I am obsessed all things food. Not only do I love cooking and baking at home, I enjoy eating out and meeting restaurant owners. Born and raised in Vero Beach, I think this town has some of the best restaurants in the state. I have critiqued food from a kid’s perspective for 4 years and I am excited to expand to The Treasure Coast Foodie. My passion and blogs have been followed on Facebook and Instagram by so many people I can’t even count. I am here to tell you about the best restaurants in my opinion and the ones I have yet to try. I prefer to eat local, however, I am always open to suggestions.
