Blue Agave Restaurant Review

Those of you that have been following me for a while now, know that I love Mexican food. It’s in my Top 3 favorite cuisine types, so I was excited to have an opportunity to review this place. I’ve eaten here before, but it’s been a few years, so I’m sure the menu has changed since then. They are located in a great spot, right in the heart of Downtown Vero on 14th Ave. The atmosphere is fun and very laid back, and sitting at the bar is definitely an experience. The bar tenders keep the place lively and always seem to be having a good time! I sat down with the owner, Steve and he guided me through the menu and suggested a few items to try. If you are into margaritas, then you gotta stop by and try one! They are all house infused and are truly amazing!

Now let’s dive right in and see what this place has to offer and what I had to eat!

Front Entrance
Dining Room & Bar
Mango Habanero Margarita (House Infused) – Infused El Jimador Silver Tequila, Orange Liqueur, Fresh Sour. It was sweet, spicy, and a little salty from the rim. It was SO GOOD!
Shrimp Ceviche – Lime juice, tomato, avocado, jalapenos, bell peppers, onions, cilantro, and served with a side of tortilla chips. This was so fresh and tasty. The combination of flavors was addicting and I had a hard time stopping myself from eating more!
Mussels – I looked for these on the menu, but didn’t find them, so they might have been a special on the night of my visit. The P.E.I mussels were very fresh and quite meaty. The broth was the real star here and added tons of flavor! Sliced Italian style bread was served along side to help you soak up more of that wonderful broth. Here is a tip for you, don’t let the broth go to waste, order a side of rice and have them add it to the broth once the mussels are gone, then you can eat it like a soup! You’re welcome! 😉
Ground Beef Nacho Platter – Served with melted cheese, beans, salsa roja, lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole. Portion size was HUGE, so bring a friend to share!
Chicken Chimichanga – Made with shredded chicken, rice, beans, cheese, and covered with their queso fresco sauce, and topped with lettuce and tomatoes. This is one of my wife’s favorite dishes, and she said it did not disappoint! The chicken was nicely seasoned and the queso fresco on top was rich, cheesy, and delicious!
