“Serving Health and Happiness” is the motto that the Bordoli brothers infuse into their Cafe Market, Chelsea’s Gourmet, on Cardinal Drive in Vero Beach. This eat-in or carry-out spot is the perfect go-to for breakfast, lunch, or to fill that picnic basket for your beach date. Smoothies, bowls, sandwiches, house-made cold-pressed juices, sandwiches, and salads are all excellent choices. How does one decide? That’s the hard part!
This is a sister location to Trattoria Dario, an Italian gem also located on the island, and it’s all in the family. Son Mateo is the face you’ll likely see at Chelsea’s. This isn’t your average market. With authentic Italian roots, you will be delighted at the cappuccino and latte offerings, and to my surprise, they have also veered into the world of delicacies, such as their “Hot Cocoa/Mushroom Elixir.” I’ll have to try that next time! This is the place where you can get wine, and also a New Balanced Tiger Adaptogenic Protein Bar. Need a gift basket created? Yep, they do that! Need catering or event space for your event? Yes to that one, too. Mini quiches, frittata bites, and sweet delectables are all for the taking. It appears they do a lot of things well, they were busy, friendly, and it was a clean and attractive atmosphere.
Here’s a peek into what my friend and I ate on our visit last week:
Avocado Chicken Club – Sliced White Toast, Chicken Breast, Honey Mustard, Bacon, Lettuce, Gouda, and Avocado. Wrapped tightly in paper and cut in half, it felt like Christmas just opening it up! You could see the quality ingredients and the care that went into making it. The dressing had a hint of sweetness to it. Definitely a top-notch panini!
Garden Wrap (Add Bacon) – I love Veggie entrees, but when I think I may be in the presence of top-tier bacon, I add it! I love the umami crunch it gives veggie wraps. The carrots were shredded very fine, and the veggies were plentiful. It was, in a word, fabulous. Everything I hoped it would be!
Apple Cinnamon Muffin – There were so many enticing choices, we didn’t know which
way to go. Cookies, Lemon blueberry muffins, pumpkin bread, macarons, etc. We
landed on this muffin, mostly for the big chunk of apple we saw on the top. Looked
like the real deal! We shared it, and left with smiling faces!
