Crawdaddy’s Grill and Raw Bar Restaurant Review – Jensen Beach, FL

Crawdaddy’s Grill and Raw Bar Restaurant Review – Jensen Beach, FL – It was a lively Saturday evening in downtown Jensen Beach when I visited Crawdaddy’s. The streets were packed, parking was nearly impossible to find, and almost every outdoor table was full of people. I was excited to try Crawdaddy’s, as I’ve always enjoyed Cajun cuisine, and it didn’t disappoint.

Location & Atmosphere

Front entrance of Crawdaddy's restaurant in Jensen Beach Florida

When we first arrived at Crawdaddy’s, it was the calm before the storm. We were seated around 7 p.m., but within the hour the restaurant transformed into a lively, buzzing scene. The live music only added to the immersive experience. At one point, the band played an acoustic version of “When The Saints Go Marching In,” and it truly did not get much more New Orleans-inspired than that. Between the Cajun food, strong drinks, and live music filling the air, the entire evening feel energetic, fun, and transportive all at once.

Crab Cake Appetizer

The first dish I tried was the crab cake, made with fresh blue crabmeat and Crawdaddy’s own Cajun seasonings. The crab cakes were fresh, flavorful, and packed with just the right amount of seasoning. The real standout, though, was the homemade Louie dressing, which brought everything together with a creamy Cajun kick without being too overpowering.

Crawfish

Next was the crawfish, which quickly became one of the stars of the evening. Fresh, flavorful, and wonderfully messy, it embodied exactly what good Cajun food should be. This is the kind of meal where you fully commit, roll up your sleeves, and embrace the experience because the payoff is absolutely worth it. Crawdaddy’s only serves fresh crawfish, flown straight from the source since crawfish do not freeze well, and you can definitely taste the difference. Served one pound and then some, it is a labor of love that adventurous eaters will absolutely appreciate.

Crawfish Étouffée

The Crawfish Étouffée delivered everything you would want from a hearty Cajun comfort dish. Made with fresh sautéed vegetables, onions, celery, bell peppers, and Crawdaddy’s famous crawfish in a hot and spicy sauce, the dish was rich with flavor and packed with just the right amount of heat. The portion was generous and comforting, the kind of meal that keeps you going back for another bite.

Traditional Jambalaya

Likewise, the Traditional Jambalaya was packed with bold flavor and easily large enough to share. Made with andouille sausage, chicken, pork, shrimp, and crawfish cooked together with rice, peppers, and onions, every bite was hearty and full of Cajun flavor. It definitely brings some medium-level heat, but the layers of seasoning make it absolutely worth it.

Witch Doctor

Of course, I could not resist ordering the Witch Doctor cocktail based on the name alone. And honestly, it lived up to expectations. The rum-based drink was fruity, deceptively smooth, and strong enough to sneak up on you. It tasted like something you would order off Bourbon Street. For those who don’t drink, there is also a thoughtful mocktail selection available, which was nice to see.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Pudding

To complete the meal, I ordered the chocolate chip banana bread pudding. Combining the comforting taste of classic bread pudding with sweet banana and rich chocolate flavors, the dessert was warm, comforting, and beautifully presented. It was the perfect way to end a lively evening filled with bold Cajun flavors, live music, and great energy.
