I recently visited one of my favorite sub shops in Vero Beach, Dagwood’s Deli & Sub Shop! It’s a family-owned business where there are friendly people and they offer made-from-scratch sandwiches. The owners’ names are Josh and Marie Jenkins and they are very amiable. This deli is located in a plaza off 17th street, close to the Majestic 11 movie theatre. This local sub shop serves regular and several unique deli-style sandwiches, chips, and fountain drinks.
Let us dive in to see what I had to eat at this mouthwatering restaurant!
Philly Cheese Steak Dip – This French dip-style sandwich features eye-prime beef, with sauteed onions, peppers, mushrooms, and a side of au jus sauce. The cheese was melty while the beef was juicy and the bread was soft and freshly baked.
The Cuban – Their version of this sandwich is made with oven-roasted pork, Swiss cheese, pit ham, pickles, and shredded cheese. The meat, toppings, and bread were toasted to perfection!
The Dagwood – This sandwich includes ham, turkey, roast beef, pepperoni, bacon, cheddar, provolone, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, banana peppers, black olives, jalapenos, with spices and oil and vinegar on the side. The flavors of the meat and toppings combined with the spices and oil and vinegar mix was truly an awesome flavor experience!
