District Table and Bar Restaurant Review – Stuart, FL

If you haven’t been to District Table & Bar yet, let this be your nudge to make a reservation. The menu shifts with the seasons, but one thing remains constant: everything is made from scratch, and everything is delicious. Chef Taylor Mohlmann knows what he’s doing, which comes as no surprise given the restaurant’s solid reputation since opening its doors in 2017.

We visited on a Thursday night, and the place was packed in the best way. The dining room buzzed with energy and friendly conversation—we even ended up chatting with the table next to us. It’s the kind of spot where the food impresses, but the warm, welcoming atmosphere keeps you coming back. You feel like a regular, even if it’s your first time.

Now, let’s talk food.

Lemon Party cocktail with citrus and yuzu, served at District Table & Bar in Stuart, Florida

Lemon Party: I began the evening with the Lemon Party cocktail—made with Wheatley, Strega, lemon yuzu, and turbinado. It was strong yet refreshingly bright, citrusy, and lightly sweet—just the way I like my cocktails.

Gourmet deviled eggs topped with trout roe and dill blossom at District Table & Bar in Stuart, Florida

Deviled Eggs: As a deviled egg lover, I was especially excited to try this appetizer—and it did not disappoint. Creamy, tangy, and elevated with trout roe, truffle, and a delicate dill blossom on top, each bite was packed with flavor. You can really taste the freshness, a testament to their scratch kitchen approach. The mustard was perfectly balanced, giving just the right amount of kick without overwhelming the dish.

House-made sourdough steamed buns at District Table & Bar in Stuart, Florida

Steamed Buns: We also tried the Steamed Buns—perfectly doughy, scrumptious, and bursting with flavor. The buns are made with their sourdough starter they’ve nurtured in-house, which adds an extra layer of richness and depth to this tasty appetizer.

Great Balls Pie with heirloom pork meatballs and smoked mozzarella at District Table & Bar in Stuart, Florida

Great Balls Pie: Then came the Great Balls Pie—a cheeky name for a pizza that delivers bold flavor in every bite. Topped with heirloom pork meatballs, smoked mozzarella, wild mushrooms, jarred tomato, crispy garlic, and a sprinkle of pecorino, this pie was slightly spicy, deeply savory, and incredibly satisfying. The crust was perfectly crisp, and every ingredient tasted fresh.

Sweet Tea Fried Chicken with creamy mac n’ cheese and a buttermilk biscuit at District Table & Bar in Stuart, Florida

Sweet Tea Fried Chicken: Their famous Sweet Tea Fried Chicken lives up to the hype. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired with creamy mac n’ cheese that could hold its own anywhere. Honestly? It’s some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. What makes it so special? It all starts with a double brine—24 hours in buttermilk followed by another 24 in sweet tea—infusing each bite with flavor and Southern charm. It’s hand-breaded to order and fried to golden perfection, delivering that satisfying crunch that keeps people coming back. The dish comes with two comfort food classics: creamy house-made mac n’ cheese (made with white cheddar, yellow cheddar, and Boursin, topped with crispy breadcrumbs) and a flaky, buttery buttermilk biscuit baked fresh daily. I can understand why this dish is so popular — it’s the kind of meal that feels like home.

S’mores Sundae with toasted marshmallow and house-made vanilla ice cream at District Table & Bar in Stuart, Florida

S’mores Sundae: The S’mores Sundae ended up being my favorite dessert of the night—even though I’m normally not much of an ice cream person. Light and airy without feeling too heavy, it was topped with a seared, marshmallowy layer that tasted like it came straight off a campfire. The house-made vanilla ice cream underneath was incredibly fresh and creamy, tying everything together in the most nostalgic, satisfying way.
