Foodie Day Trip – Port St Lucie

I’m continuing my “Foodie Day Trip” article series and this time I’m heading to Port St Lucie Florida! In my first article, I started in the Melbourne & Palm Bay areas, and I’m eating my way down the Treasure Coast! In case you missed the last article from my visit to Fort Pierce, FL CLICK HERE to catch up on the series.

I live in Vero Beach, so I don’t get to this area as often as I would like to. The restaurants featured in this article were from YOUR suggestions and using Google to see what stands out and looks good. Be sure to explore my website for other great restaurant suggestions in the Port St Lucie area!

Now let’s dive right in and see what all these places have to offer and what I had to eat!

Bella Roma Bakery & Pizzeria

Front Entrance
Dining Room & Bakery
Roma Special Sub – Ham, salami, capicola, mortadella & provolone cheese with lettuce tomato onion banana peppers, and a side of Italian dressing.
Grandma Pie – Rectangular thin crust, plum tomato sauce, mozzarella, fresh basil garlic, and olive oil.

If you’ve been following me for a while now, you know that I LOVE Italian food! It’s in the Top 3 of my favorite cuisine types, so I knew I had to include one in this article. After researching different places on Google, I decided to give this place a try, and boy am I glad I did! While the Grandma pizza isn’t usually my favorite, I think it’s a good starting point to judge an Italian place by, and this one was spectacular! Thin crust, lots of cheese, and that SAUCE! It had a rich tomato flavor with TONS of garlic! One of the other reasons why I picked this spot is because of the in-house bakery. We tried a few different items, and they were all delicious! I highly recommend the Lemonchello Cake.

Meating Street Seafood & Steakhouse

Front Entrance
Al Fresco Dining with a Water View
MS Smash Burger – Brioche, two 4 oz house blend patties, lettuce, tomato, onion, sharp cheddar, provolone, dill pickle, MS sauce.
Fresh Catch Sandwich – Mahi Mahi, Brioche, MS slaw, tomato, onion, pickle, housemade tartar sauce.

I’ve been hearing great things about this place, and several of my followers suggested it, so we had to stop by and check it out. With a name like “Meating” Street, they better be on top of their game when it comes to meats, and as you can see from the photos above, they were on point! My wife had the burger and I ordered the Fresh Catch sandwich at the waiter’s recommendation. She said the burger was cooked perfectly and was quite tasty! The fresh catch sandwich definitely had that “Instagrammable” WOW factor, but it’s more of a knife and fork sandwich. I did smash it down and I tried to take a bite, but failed miserably! The Mahi was cooked to perfection and the shoestring potatoes were nice and crispy!

Ramen Hana & Wings

Front Entrance
Dining Room
Sweet Chili Teriyaki Breaded Wings
Hinageshi Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen – Signature creamy pork broth, thin noodles topped with pork chashu, kikurage mushroom, scallion, nori, and egg. Note: I ordered additional eggs and pork for a heartier bowl.

This place was highly recommended by a friend of mine in the restaurant industry who eats here often. She had a fantastic Ramen dish on a previous menu, so I knew this one had to be good! The restaurant is located in an industrial park and is nothing to look at from the outside. The inside was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The wings were of average size and fried till crunchy on the outside, yet still tender and juicy on the inside. The Ramen is the real deal, and that creamy pork broth was wonderful!

Zest Kitchen and Bar

Front Entrance
Dining Room
Duck Bacon Wrapped Sea Scallops
Mixed Fruit Cheesecake Cup Dessert

For our weekly family dinners, I try to select a new place each time we dine out, so we always have a new experience. I found Zest via Google and checked out their menu on the website. The dish that caught my eye was the Duck Bacon Wrapped Scallops you see above. There are 6 total scallops, 2 stacked in each bacon wrap. The bacon was crispy on the edges, and the scallops may have been a tad over due to this cooking method, but were still tender and delicious. The sweet potato mash in the middle of the plate was fantastic and got rave reviews from everyone at our table!

I travel anywhere from Melbourne to West Palm Beach. I’ll be heading to the Stuart, FL area next, so send me your restaurant recommendations for that area!
