Gelazzo Ice Cream Shop Review – Palm Bay, FL – I had an opportunity little boys and girls could only dream of. I got to try every flavor of ice cream, gelato, and Italian ice at Gelazzo in Palm Bay, Florida. And let me tell you, the quality and variety of unique flavors was nothing short of spectacular.

Gelazzo is run by Keith, who previously owned Gio’s Italian Ice in Rockledge before deciding to open something new a bit further south. His grandmother owned an ice cream shop when he was growing up, but Keith wanted to build something with his own twist. His goal was simple. Use real ingredients and create flavors he could be proud to serve. I’d call it a success.

Location & Atmosphere

Walking in, a swirl of sweet flavors hits your nose immediately. Located in the Bayside Lakes Plaza, the space is bright and modern with plenty of seating and even a fun soft serve social media wall to show off your creation.

Gelato

We started with the Italian icon and their namesake, gelato. Gelato has a lower fat content, less air, and is served slightly warmer than traditional ice cream, which gives it that smoother, more intense texture.

Every single flavor was a knockout, but a few stood out. The combination of Raspberry and Limoncello was tart and refreshing. The Spumoni stays true to the Italian classic. The pistachio uses real pistachio cream and pieces, and you can taste the difference. And the Mint Brownie Fudge is loaded with real fudge brownie chunks and Andes Mints.

Ice Cream

For their ice cream, Keith leans into classic flavors with a modern twist. The Royal Malt Indulgence was unlike anything I’ve had before. That nostalgic malt flavor comes through with a chocolate, nutty chocolate ingredient that he wants to keep secret.

The Cookie Butter Royale is made with real Biscoff cookies, and the Praline is packed with candied pecans. If you’re craving that classic ice cream shop experience, this section of the menu delivers.

Italian Ice

Gelazzo currently offers 20 Italian ice flavors, and what impressed me most was the use of real fruit. You’ll actually find fresh fruit diced in when possible.

The Tiger’s Blood blends watermelon, strawberry, and coconut into something super refreshing. The Guava Cream combines real guava with fresh cream for a smooth, tropical flavor. Keith’s commitment to authenticity really shows here.

Boba Sunset

Somehow, I still had room to try a few of their signature sundaes.

This one is as fun to eat as it is to look at. Layers of mango, strawberry lemonade, and passion fruit ice create a bright, tropical base that leans sweet but has just enough tang to keep it refreshing. The mango and strawberry lemonade boba add little bursts of flavor throughout, while the vanilla soft serve smooths everything out.

The Golden Churro

Warm churros, fresh from the oven, are layered into vanilla soft serve and topped with caramel, cinnamon sugar, and whipped cream. The texture is what makes it. Creamy soft serve with a warm, slightly crisp churro in every bite, with rich caramel coming through just enough. It’s sweet, a little indulgent, and easily my favorite of the bunch.

The Reese’s Overload

This one does exactly what the name promises. Rich, creamy gelato loaded with Reese’s Pieces, peanut butter cups, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and a cherry, plus chopped nuts for extra crunch. It’s layered, heavy, and unapologetically indulgent. If you’re a peanut butter lover, this isn’t just a good choice, it’s the only choice.

Why Gelazzo is Worth a Visit

Gelazzo isn’t the place to play it safe. Although their vanilla is done just right. Keith clearly has a passion for creating, and Gelazzo feels like a playground for flavor. Some nostalgic, some new, and some completely original.
