Harborcove Seafood Bar Grill & Sushi Restaurant Review – Spring 2022

Located in Fort Pierce at the far end of Safe Harbor Harbortown marina is Harbor Cove Bar Grill & Sushi. Most people stop by places they can easily see from the road, but this one you have to seek out, a locals place if you will. Even from the entrance, you might think you’ve made a wrong turn since you have to enter through a guarded gate to get in. Pull up to the far left gate, let the guard know you are there to eat at the restaurant, and you can get right in. The parking lot is quite large, but can full up quickly on busy nights, but they do offer a free valet service (tips appreciated). Upon entry, the outdoor covered dining room has a large centrally located bar and 180 degree views of the water and marina. High top tables line the deck and they also have plenty of low top tables that are also close enough to the water that you can still enjoy the view. The newest edition, the sushi bar, is separate from the dining room and has about 14 bar stools. Since my previous visit and review (READ HERE) was so amazing, I decided to stop by over lunch and try a few different items from their new menu!

Now let’s dive right in and see what this place has to offer and what I had to eat!

Although seating is limited at the Sushi & Raw Bar, you can order from that menu and have it delivered to your table anywhere in the restaurant.
Yum Yum Roll – Crab Salad, Spicy tuna, Masago and Avocado wrapped in soy paper and topped with spicy mayo and eel sauce. When it comes to sushi, I always like to let the chef recommend his favorites, and this was one of them. The roll was fresh, light and quite flavorful.
Chef’s Roll – Shrimp Tempura, Cream Cheese, Spicy Krab topped with Seared Salmon and Spicy Tuna Kobachi, Eel Sauce, Spicy Mayo and Tempura Flakes. This one definitely has a visual “WOW” factor when they brought it out to the table. The “WOW” factor didn’t stop when I took my first bite. This roll has everything I LOVE about sushi, its crunchy, sweet, savory, with just a little bit of heat! This is one of the best sushi rolls I’ve had in a long time!
Mahi Tacos – A double flour tortilla is filled with a cabbage slaw, blackened Mahi fillets, and topped with Pico de Gallo. Who doesn’t love fish tacos? The portion was bigger than I expected, and by this time this dish arrived, I was already quite full from the two previous sushi rolls. The slaw was lightly dressed and added a nice crunch, the fish was cooked and seasoned just right, and the French fries were above average.
