Harborcove Seafood Bar Grill & Sushi Restaurant Review

Located in Fort Pierce at the far end of Safe Harbor Harbortown marina is Harbor Cove Bar & Grill. Most people stop by places they can easily see from the road, but this is one that you have to seek out, a locals place if you will. Even from the entrance, you might think you’ve made a wrong turn since you have to enter through a guarded gate to get in. Just pull up to the far left gate and let the guard know you are there to eat at the restaurant, and you can get right in. The parking lot is quite large, but can full up quickly on busy nights, so they do offer a free valet service (tips appreciated). Upon entry, the outdoor covered dining room has a large centrally located bar and 180 degree views of the water and marina. High top tables line the deck and they also have plenty of low top tables that are also close enough to the water that you can still enjoy the view. Since my previous visit and review (READ HERE) was so amazing, and with the recent addition of their brand new sushi & raw bar, I thought it was time to stop by again and check out the new menu and see what has changed.

Now let’s dive right in and see what this place has to offer and what I had to eat!

Main Entrance
Waterfront High Top Tables and Bar Seating
Waterfront Dining with a Marina view!
Although seating is limited at the Sushi & Raw Bar, you can order from that menu and have it delivered to your table anywhere in the restaurant.
Red Dragon Roll – Shrimp Tempura, Cream Cheese, Avocado, and topped with Spicy Tuna, Eel sauce, and a Seaweed salad. It’s one of the better Red Dragon rolls I’ve tasted recently. I also really like the presentation on the board instead of just a plate. While the boats in the back look like a painting, this is an actual view of the marina at dusk.
Oceans Trio – Seaweed outside roll with tuna, Hamachi, Yellowtail, Cucumber, and Avocado. While I’m not a big fan of a Nori seaweed wrap on my sushi rolls, this one was tender and easy to bite through. The fish was fresh and quite tasty!
Seafood Ceviche – Fresh catch white fish, shrimp, New Zealand mussels, and calamari is tossed in Aji Amarillo, red onions, micro cilantro, and fried Peruvian corn. This one of the new raw bar options and it was so bright and colorful, it just made me want to dive in and take a bite. The calamari was very tender, the sauce was bright and limey, and the Peruvian corn was a twist on a dish like this I haven’t seen before.
Yacht Seafood Tower – 1 1/2 dozen oysters, 8 peel & eat shrimp, 10 New Zealand Mussels, 1 snow crab cluster, smoked fish dip, and 9 pieces of chef’s choice. The tower is served chilled with a large variety of seafood as you can see from the picture above. Everything was beyond fresh and quite delicious!
