Hobe Sound Social & Coffee Review – Hobe Sound, FL

It was a rainy and gray South Florida afternoon—the perfect kind of day to settle in with a warm drink—when a visit to Hobe Sound Social and Coffee proved just how comforting a great cup of coffee can be. Tucked away in the heart of Hobe Sound, this cozy café offers more than just caffeine; it’s a reflection of community, creativity, and local love.

Owned by husband-and-wife duo Jenny Doria and Saul Spade, Hobe Sound Social opened its doors in November 2021 with a clear vision: to create a space that supports local vendors while serving up quality, comforting drinks and treats. Jenny, who spent over a decade in the hospitality industry in Orlando, saw the need for a neighborhood coffee spot after moving to Hobe Sound with her young family.

Since opening, Hobe Sound Social and Coffee has become a hub for all things local—featuring products like Sutton Milk from Okeechobee, Ital Bowls, Pop Shack Ice Pops, and pastries from beloved area bakeries like Tribe Kitchen and Importico’s. They’ve also expanded their offerings beyond food and drink, regularly hosting markets, craft nights, movie nights, photo sessions, and even a book club, all designed to bring the community together and spotlight fellow small businesses.

Hobe Sound Social and Coffee is truly a place that celebrates the people, flavors, and heart of the Treasure Coast.

Honeybee coffee drink served in a white cup and saucer, topped with a delicate flower pattern in cinnamon foam art, capturing a warm and cozy presentation.

Honeybee: Let’s start with what instantly became my favorite: The Honeybee. Made with your choice of milk, local Hani Honey, espresso, and a dusting of cinnamon, this cup feels like something you’d sip on a wooden porch wrapped in a cozy blanket. It’s warm, subtly sweet, and totally soothing—like the comfort drink you didn’t know you needed.

Pistachio Mocha served in a white cup and saucer, topped with a cocoa smiley face and cocoa dusted along the right rim of the cup for a playful and inviting touch.

Pistachio Mocha: Calling all pistachio lovers! This is NOT your average mocha. Made with Ghirardelli chocolate powder and pistachio syrup, this drink delivers a bold pistachio punch with just a whisper of chocolate. Rich but not overwhelming, it’s no wonder this is a customer favorite. Bonus: All their coffee drinks can be made iced, but they’re especially magical when hot.

Tiramisu Pop Tart made by Tribe Kitchen from Stuart, Florida, presented on a blueish grey speckled plate with a crumbly crust and creamy center.

Tiramisu Pop Tart: This one surprised me in the best way. It’s crumbly and light but has that creamy center that balances everything out. The homemade vanilla icing adds just the right amount of sweetness without overpowering.

Pistachio Bun on a blueish grey speckled plate, featuring layers of flaky pastry topped with thick pistachio cream cheese icing.

Pistachio Bun: Topped with pistachio cream cheese icing, this was thick, creamy, and utterly satisfying. It’s especially decadent when warm. Trust me, you’ll want to savor every bite.

Jamie Piecora of Tribe Kitchen serving her famous ube pop tarts at the 2025 Golden Fork Awards ceremony in Vero Beach, held at Celebration Grove.

All the baked goods I tried were sourced from Tribe Kitchen, and they did not disappoint. Everything is thoughtfully crafted and made to be enjoyed slowly—preferably with a warm drink in hand.

Locally Sourced Goodness

One of the things that sets Hobe Sound Social apart is its dedication to local. They use Sutton Milk from Okeechobee, and even sell their dairy products in-store. You’ll also find popsicles from Pop Shack Ice Pops, smoothie bowls from Ital Bowls, and a rotating lineup of handmade goods from local artists.
