Mervis Cafe: Latin & American Cuisine in Fort Pierce Florida

Hi, it’s Jackson Harbin and I recently discovered a popular cafe in Fort Pierce, Fl! This spot is called Mervis’ Cafe and Grille and they serve Latin-inspired foods and American favorites as well. When I walked in, I had a feeling like I was in a small hometown general store. I was greeted by friendly staff who were there to take my order. Mervis has been in business since 2001 and on any given day you will find hardworking local customers from the area coming in to get a quick bite to eat.

Caribbean Burger & French Fries at Mervis Cafe in Fort Pierce Florida

Caribbean Burger – My dad had this burger with just lettuce, but you can put additional toppings on it. The lettuce was fresh and the burger was seasoned and cooked just how he liked it. Of course, the sandwich came with a side of fries which completed the American classic.

Palomilla Beef Steak Sandwich at Mervis Cafe in Fort Pierce Florida

Palomilla Beef Steak Sandwich – It’s made with seasoned steak, sautéed onions, lettuce, tomatoes, shoestring potatoes, and mayonnaise. The steak was juicy and cooked to perfection. The toppings were fresh and went perfectly with the sandwich.  I also had a side of fried plantains and their sweetness complimented the saltiness of the steak sandwich just right!

Cuban sandwich at Mervis Cafe in Fort Pierce Florida

“Our Famous” Cuban Sandwich – This is the most popular item on their menu. It had roasted pork, salami, ham, Swiss cheese, mustard, and pickles on Cuban bread. It had a taste as if it was made at home and was incredibly delicious. I especially liked the crispness of the toasted Cuban bread.

Jackson Harbin

Hi, I’m Jackson Harbin and I am obsessed all things food. Not only do I love cooking and baking at home, I enjoy eating out and meeting restaurant owners. Born and raised in Vero Beach, I think this town has some of the best restaurants in the state. I have critiqued food from a kid’s perspective for 4 years and I am excited to expand to The Treasure Coast Foodie. My passion and blogs have been followed on Facebook and Instagram by so many people I can’t even count. I am here to tell you about the best restaurants in my opinion and the ones I have yet to try. I prefer to eat local, however, I am always open to suggestions.
