Olympia Cafe Restaurant Review – Melbourne, FL

Olympia Cafe Restaurant Review – Melbourne, FL – Olympia Cafe brings two distinct cuisines together under one roof, serving traditional Greek favorites alongside bold Jamaican dishes inspired by owner Keisha Barrant’s heritage. It’s an unexpected combination at first, but one that gives the restaurant its own unique identity and a menu with plenty of variety. Keisha likes to call it “the best of both worlds,” and after looking through the mix of dishes coming out of the kitchen, it’s easy to see why.

Location & Atmosphere

Located just off Harbor City Boulevard, Olympia Cafe has deep roots in the community, serving Greek cuisine from its current location for 15 years and in Brevard County for more than 35. When Keisha took over, she chose to preserve that history by keeping the Olympia Cafe name and many of its longtime Greek dishes while adding her own Jamaican influence. Inside, Mediterranean touches blend with Keisha’s personal style, with gold accents and fresh greenery giving the casual, comfortable dining room a fresh and welcoming feel.

Jamaican Beef Patties

Jamaican beef patties are a classic made fresh in-house. The flaky pastry is filled with a spicy, well-seasoned beef mixture that is perfectly moist and packs some serious heat. Curry Chicken and Spinach Vegetarian versions are also available.

Jamaican Oxtail

The Jamaican oxtail was a knockout dish. Slowly braised in a rich, savory gravy, the meat was incredibly tender and practically fell off the bone. The gravy had plenty of spice without overpowering the meat. Served with rice and peas alongside stir-fried cabbage and carrots, the fluffy rice and crisp vegetables rounded out the dish.

Classic Greek Salad

Crisp lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, green peppers, Kalamata olives, and feta are tossed in Olympia’s signature Greek dressing. We added grilled chicken, which had a nice char while staying juicy and flavorful. It’s a remarkable dish that shows Keisha’s commitment to keeping the Greek traditional flavors alive.

Irie Curry Goat

This was my first time trying goat, and it ended up being my favorite dish of the evening. Marinated and slow-cooked with Jamaican curry and island spices, the meat was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. The curry wasn’t overly spicy, making it a great option for those who can’t handle much heat but still want to experience those classic Jamaican flavors.

Jerk Chicken Gyro

If there is one dish that truly explains what Olympia Cafe is all about, it’s the Jerk Chicken Gyro. It gives the traditional Greek gyro a Jamaican spin with jerk-marinated chicken tucked into a soft pita with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and cool tzatziki. The combination was unlike anything I’ve had in a traditional gyro. The chicken had a slightly sweet flavor and plenty of Caribbean spice, while the tangy, creamy tzatziki cooled everything down and balanced the sweetness.

Lamb Chop Rasta Pasta

The Lamb Chop Rasta Pasta is another dish that doesn’t hold back. Jerk-seasoned lamb chops are flame-grilled and finished with a honey jerk glaze before being served over creamy alfredo sauce with fresh herbs and garlic. It’s very indulgent, with the cheesy alfredo balancing the smoky, sweet, and spicy flavors of the lamb.
