South Fork Kitchen & Bar Restaurant Review – Stuart, FL

South Fork Kitchen & Bar Restaurant Review – South Fork Kitchen & Bar opened its doors on November 15, 2017, marking a new chapter in Owner and Chef Ron Kerr’s culinary journey. After moving to Martin County 14 years ago, he began his local career with a food truck before bringing his vision to life with South Fork, a place where he blends creativity, flavor, and technique into a refined yet approachable menu that evolves every three months to keep things fresh and exciting.

Location and Atmosphere

Tucked unassumingly inside a quiet plaza in Stuart, South Fork Kitchen & Bar might not catch your eye from the outside. But step through the doors, and you’re instantly transported into a warm, elevated dining experience. Dim lighting, sleek finishes, and an intimate ambiance make it the perfect spot for date nights or a cozy evening out.

What sets South Fork apart is its uncompromising dedication to quality. All meats and seafood are antibiotic-free, sourced from trusted purveyors like 1855 Black Angus Beef in Nebraska. Every sauce, aioli, and dressing is made in-house, ensuring each bite is fresh and intentional.

Crispy Tuna Sushi

Crispy Tuna Sushi appetizer at South Fork Kitchen & Bar in Stuart FL

We kicked things off with the Crispy Tuna Sushi, a vibrant dish featuring crispy rice topped with fresh tuna, drizzled with eel sauce and truffle soy chipotle aioli. The contrast between the crunchy base and tender tuna was delightful, and the light kick of spice tied it all together.

Cauliflower Street Style

Next was the Cauliflower Street Style, a standout dish that quickly became my favorite. Perfectly seared and bursting with flavor, it came tossed with feta, pickled chilies, and a smoky chipotle aioli. It was hearty but not heavy, the kind of dish you “just try one more bite” of until it’s gone – which I definitely did.

Jumbo Scallops

Jumbo Scallops with coconut basil broth at South Fork Kitchen & Bar Stuart Florida

South Fork’s Jumbo Scallops were nothing short of perfection – light, buttery, and beautifully seared. They rested on a bed of local sweet corn and young herbs, all brought together by a delicate coconut-basil broth that added just the right touch of sweetness to complement the scallops without overpowering them.

BAMF Burger

Then came the BAMF Burger, (aka The Bad Ass MF’er). The restaurant’s number-one menu item, it features two juicy patties topped with bacon-onion jam, chipotle aioli, and melted American cheese, served with crisp beef tallow fries. The butter-toasted challah bun was soft yet sturdy, adding a touch of decadence to every bite. It’s easy to see why this burger has a loyal following.

Rack of Lamb

And let’s talk about the Rack of Lamb, which is some of the best I’ve ever had. Expertly seared and tender, the meat delivered that rich, distinct lamb flavor without any gaminess. The presentation was elegant, complemented by perfectly seasoned vegetables and a savory black garlic jus that tied the dish together beautifully. (I may or may not have had to stop my husband from finishing it before I could get a taste!)

Dubai Chocolate S’more

Dubai Chocolate S’more dessert with pistachio ice cream at South Fork Kitchen & Bar Stuart FL

Dessert at South Fork is just as thoughtful as the main course. The Dubai Chocolate S’more arrived with a perfectly torched marshmallow, charred just enough to evoke that nostalgic campfire flavor, and paired with a scoop of pistachio ice cream that offers a cool, refreshing contrast to the rich, toasted sweetness.
