Stringers Tavern & Oyster Bar is a newly established restaurant in Stuart, FL, paying homage to the town’s boat-building history. Opening on May 10th, 2021, the restaurant’s name is inspired by the wooden beams called “stringers” used in traditional wood boats. With a rich heritage of skilled boat builders dating back to the 1970s and 1980s, Stringers embraces the maritime legacy of the area. The restaurant’s ambiance immerses diners in the town’s history, featuring captivating images of locally crafted boats spanning nearly a century. deviled eggs at Stringers Tavern & Oyster Bar in stuart florida

The Deviled Eggs at this charming restaurant is a visual delight, made with beet-stained eggs and adorned with smoked bacon, three-pepper jam, and smoked sea salt. Beyond their captivating appearance, these eggs boast a burst of flavor, combining the classic deviled egg taste with a delightful twist from the bacon and smoked sea salt.

shrimp scampi at Stringers Tavern & Oyster Bar in stuart florida

The Tavern Shrimp Scampi features succulent shrimp, pancetta, linguine pasta, blistered grape tomatoes, and sunchokes tossed in a savory garlic butter sauce. While skillfully crafted with a harmonious blend of sweetness, savoriness, and nutty undertones, I personally found that a touch more garlic would have better suited my tastes. Nevertheless, the combination of tender shrimp, pancetta, and perfectly cooked linguine created a satisfying and memorable dish.

steak frites at Stringers Tavern & Oyster Bar in stuart florida

The Steak Frites takes center stage on the menu, featuring a grilled 10oz. Top Sirloin steak, expertly prepared to order and served with a delectable house compound butter and crispy pommes frites. Though Sirloin is not typically known for its tenderness, this particular dish surprised me. The chef’s skill in grilling the thick cut to a perfect medium rare resulted in a tender steak that exceeded expectations. The flavors were on point, with the steak perfectly seasoned, renewing my faith in the potential of Sirloin cuts. This dish is a true testament to the chef’s expertise and a must-try for any steak enthusiast.

creme brulee at Stringers Tavern & Oyster Bar in stuart florida

My final dish of the night was the Creme Brulee, served with a side of lightly sweetened strawberries and a delicate chiffonade of mint. As one of my all-time favorite desserts, this Creme Brulee did not disappoint. The thin, perfectly caramelized sugar crust on top cracked with a gentle tap of the spoon, revealing a smooth and creamy texture beneath. Each spoonful delivered a wonderful burst of rich vanilla flavor, making it a truly indulgent treat.
