Stuart Boathouse Restaurant Review

The Stuart, FL area is definitely a foodie hot spot on the Treasure Coast and my next visit is to the Stuart Boathouse! Located right on the St Lucie River, this restaurant is in a prime location. This historical building has been around for well over 100 years and has been home to several other businesses over the years, including a hotel, an assisted living facility, and law offices. The Boathouse first opened their doors in September 2014 and underwent an extensive renovation to make it what it is today.

With it’s location right on the water, they offer both inside and outside seating, all with spectacular views of the river. On Sundays, be sure to make a reservation so you can enjoy the live entertainment right next door on the Stuart Riverwalk stage while you dine. Got a boat? Cruise on over and park your boat nearby and grab a bite to eat. If you are in need of a private dining room, they can accommodate parties of up to 50 guests. With a chef driven menu, there are a lot of options to please just about any foodie, along with options to keep your non-foodie friends or family happy too! Happy hour runs weekly, Monday – Friday from 2pm to 6pm, on Wednesdays kids eat free with the purchase of an adult entrée, and it’s also Wine Down Wednesdays where you can get up to a $75 bottle of wine for 50% off!

Dining Room & Full Bar
Outdoor Dining Waterfront PatioThere are two more levels down a flight of stairs with additional seating.
Triple Crab & Avocado Roll – Jumbo lump crab, cucumber, grilled corn & avocado wasabi aioli rolled in sushi rice & nori, topped with sliced avocado, deep sea crab, imitation crab, sweet soy glaze, sriracha ginger aioli & scallions. Somehow when I looked at the menu prior to my visit, I didn’t see that they had sushi, so this was a nice surprise! The roll was freshly made and quite tasty! The two sauces added that sweet and spicy flavor that I crave so much!
Cannonball Tacos – Three tacos on soft flour tortillas with panko breaded shrimp tossed in sriracha ginger aioli, Asian slaw, scallions and sesame seeds. The shrimp were nice and crunchy and dressed with a “bang bang” style sauce. The sauce was fairly mild, with only a hint of heat. The French fries are some of the best I’ve ever had. They were quite large and had a satisfying crunch with a soft mashed potato like texture inside.
Overstuffed Shrimp – Jumbo shrimp stuffed with jumbo lump crab, wrapped in bacon and drizzled with beurre blanc, paired with asparagus, served over mashed potatoes. This is their #1 selling dish and I can see why. The shrimp were huge and perfectly cooked. The bacon helped keep them moist during the cooking process and also imparted a smoky flavor. The mashed potatoes were some of the smoothest and creamiest I’ve ever had. So good!
Almond Crusted Swordfish – Almond and panko crusted swordfish over a crispy potato succotash with bacon, edamame, corn, and finished with a beurre blanc sauce. It’s been quite a while since I’ve had swordfish, so I was excited to try this dish. The swordfish was perfectly grilled and had a satisfying crunch from the almond crust. The succotash was a unique mix I’ve not seen before. It was a little bit too savory for my taste and needs a little more corn to sweeten it a bit, plus a little acid (lemon) to balance out all the flavors.
