SUBperior Sandwiches – Restaurant Review

Have you ever driven by a place like a 100 times and say that you should stop by there sometime and check it out but then never do? I tend to do that too, but eventually I do stop by and check these places out for you to show you what you’ve been missing! SUBperior Sandwiches owner, Shelly has been in the food industry for nearly 40 years and got started with cooking in her hometown of Ft Lauderdale, where she gained valuable experience working at quite a few different restaurants. A few years later, she decided to move to New Jersey and open her own place. It was called Shelly’s Breakfast and Lunch Cafe and it was very successful. After being away for a while, she began missing home and has been wanting to move back to Florida. Ft Lauderdale was just too busy, so she looked around the East Coast area and finally settled on Vero Beach since it was close by and felt the most like home. A little over 4 years ago, she decided to open SUBperior Sandwiches and has been doing quite well. 2020 hasn’t been kind to many small locally owned restaurants, but Covid-19 hasn’t really affected her too badly since the majority of her business was already focused on take out anyway. The menu has a lot to choose from including hot & cold subs, Signature subs, panini’s, wraps, and salads too! Everything I tasted during my visit was very fresh and quite delicious!

Now let’s jump right in and see what this place has to offer and what I had to eat!

Philly Cheese Steak Sub – Sliced ribeye, grilled onions, sweet peppers, mayo and melted American cheese
Meatball Sub – Two GIANT meatballs in marinara sauce, provolone cheese, and topped with grated parmesan cheese
Italian Sub – Ham, Pepperoni, Genoa & Provolone cheese along with your choice of toppings
