Sunrise City Cafe – Food Review

Out of all the breakfast spots on the Treasure Coast, Sunrise City Café is by far one of my favorites. This quaint Downtown Fort Pierce breakfast restaurant has fast and friendly service.  It has fan favorite breakfast foods such as crispy chicken and waffles and delightful pancakes. They also have traditional foods like eggs, bacon, toast, home fries, and grits.

My mom had the sunrise hearty start which included two eggs your way which she picked sunny side up and they were perfect. It also came with white toast and your choice of meat (bacon, sausage, or ham) which she picked a very flavorful sausage patty. The last thing it included were either home fries, grits, and fruit and she picked perfectly seasoned home fries.

My dad enjoyed the same dish except he picked fluffy scrambled eggs.  Instead of having a sausage patty, his bacon had a light smoky taste that took it to the next level. Since it was the same dish, he also had white toast.  He has been raving about how amazing the home fries were ever since he ate them.

My sister had the chocolate chip pancakes with bacon. The pancakes were filled with chocolatey morsels. The bacon was excellent and not too crispy.

I had the best chicken and waffles on the Treasure Coast. The waffle was fluffy and paired perfectly with the crispy chicken. The chicken was so juicy and flavorful.

Jackson Harbin

Hi, I’m Jackson Harbin and I am obsessed all things food. Not only do I love cooking and baking at home, I enjoy eating out and meeting restaurant owners. Born and raised in Vero Beach, I think this town has some of the best restaurants in the state. I have critiqued food from a kid’s perspective for 4 years and I am excited to expand to The Treasure Coast Foodie. My passion and blogs have been followed on Facebook and Instagram by so many people I can’t even count. I am here to tell you about the best restaurants in my opinion and the ones I have yet to try. I prefer to eat local, however, I am always open to suggestions.
