Tequila Azteca Mexican Restaurant Review – Vero Beach, FL

Tequila Azteca Mexican Restaurant has become a delightful addition to our town’s culinary landscape, offering a tantalizing array of Mexican cuisine. Following my most recent visit, I found myself captivated by the rich flavors of their dishes, from the Fiesta Platter to the vegetarian friendly Burrito Relleno. This restaurant has quickly become a preferred destination for authentic Mexican flavors, providing a satisfying dining experience that keeps us coming back for more.

Front entrance to Tequila Azteca Mexican Restaurant in Vero Beach Florida

Having opened their doors a mere year and a half ago, this spot has already garnered a loyal group of faithful patrons. Tequila Azteca is proudly owned by Alfonso Garcia. He has a second Mexican restaurant named Casa Tequila, which is located in Coral Springs, FL. Aesthetically, it’s clear that Tequila Azteca takes pride in their restaurant, with its clean, bright, comfortable booths and yellow and orange cheery vibe. The table side guacamole is always a favorite, as is the Cadillac Margarita. Although I’m typically a shrimp fajitas kind of girl, I mixed it up this time, and now I have some brand-new favorites. Here’s a peek at what we enjoyed at lunchtime last week!

The Fieste Platter appetizer as prepared by Tequila Azteca Mexican Restaurant in Vero Beach Florida

Fiesta Platter – The two best words to describe my first reaction to the dish were FRESH and PLENTIFUL! In the world of “everything is a charcuterie board” almost everywhere you go these days, I kept thinking this was as pretty as any grazing board I’ve ever seen. The chicken taquitos were juicy, and alongside that were crispy nachos, and a quesadilla topped with sour cream, tomatoes and green onions. Although listed as an appetizer, it is a dish unto itself!

The Skirt Steak Bowl as prepared by Tequila Azteca Mexican Restaurant in Vero Beach Florida

Skirt Steak Bowl – I just love the bowl trend these days, such a good way to get that protein and seasoned veggies without all the carb load. This one includes rice, black or pinto beans, Pico de Gallo, shredded cheese, and fresh sliced avocado. The steak was tender and cut into small bite sized pieces, it was delicious!

The Burrito Relleno as prepared by Tequila Azteca Mexican Restaurant in Vero Beach Florida

Burrito Relleno – This is a hefty burrito, made with soft flour tortilla stuffed with Chile Relleno, rice and beans, covered with enchilada sauce, chopped tomatoes, and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. So incredibly flavorful without being over salted, it’s a stellar vegetarian option. I know people who practice “Meatless Mondays.” This would fit the bill nicely!

Sopapillas as prepared by Tequila Azteca Mexican Restaurant in Vero Beach Florida

Sopapillas – We topped our lunch off with a light and crispy dessert (reminiscent of a croissant), which is drizzled with honey, cinnamon sugar, and chocolate syrup. Not too sweet, though, and bonus points for still being warm when delivered to the table. Perfect for those of you who want a little something sweet at the end of your meal that isn’t too filling.
