The Grove Pizza Cucina & Wine Bar Restaurant Review

We have a lot of amazing restaurants on the Treasure Coast and I’m always on the lookout for new, fresh, and exciting places to dine. I discovered this place on Instagram and was impressed with what I saw, so I reached out to see if they would be interested having me stop by to check out their restaurant. It’s only about an hour south of Vero Beach in Hobe Sound, FL and well worth the drive as you will see from my pictures below.

I’m adding a new feature to my blog posts called “Meet the Owners”! I think learning more about the people behind the restaurant is as important as the atmosphere and the food, so I hope you enjoy it!

Meet the Owners

Jen and Luis met over 20 years ago in Orlando, Florida. With their love for food, wine, and the hospitality industry, it has taken them on culinary adventures all over the world. Luis pursued wine education to further his knowledge by becoming an Advanced Level Sommelier and a Certified Wine instructor. Jen also achieved her Level One Sommelier certificate in 2019. As a family, they lived abroad in Europe, traveling everywhere grapes grow, including Italy, France, and Spain where Luis worked at the vineyards during the harvests to expand his knowledge with some of the finest winemakers in the world. As South Florida and Hobe Sound locals, they wanted to bring their international experience to their hometown and opened The Grove in 2019. In Feb 2021, they were recognized by Wine Spectator with an Award of Excellence. Luis and Jen can be found most evenings in their dining room taking care of their guests, sharing stories, making delicious food, and pouring wine for their guests to enjoy.

Now let’s dive right in and see what this place has to offer and what I had to eat!

Mediterranean Lamb Meatballs – Served with a Greek yogurt dipping sauce. The meatballs were a little larger than golf ball size and were tender and flavorful. The yogurt dipping sauce was reminiscent of a Tzatziki sauce.
Scallops & Corn Succotash – Pan seared New England scallops are served atop a sweet corn succotash with a basil butter sauce. The scallops had a nice sear on them, yet were still translucent inside. The succotash was sweet, salty, and a little bit smoky from the bacon.
Tuscan Chicken Rollatini – Grilled chicken breast is rolled up with cheese, spinach, roasted red peppers, is served over zucchini noodles, and topped with a balsamic reduction. For those of you wanting to watch your carbs, this is from their Carb Conscious section on the menu. The chicken was tender and had tons of flavor from the filling. The zucchini noodles were a nice touch instead of pasta.
Classic Margarita Pizza – Check out that color! It was perfectly baked, crispy on the bottom, yet it still had that desirable chew I look for in a crust. The toppings were simple, yet added tons of flavor!
Lamb Bolognese – Domestic lamb is slow cooked in a creamy tomato sauce and served over egg pappardelle. I LOVE me a good Bolognese and this one was exceptional! It has a rich meaty and tomato flavor that can only come from slow simmering for hours. With the wide noodles of the pappardelle, they helped soak up more of that wonderful sauce with each bite!
Classic Tiramisu & Cappuccino – A classic Italian dessert is always a nice way to round out a wonderful meal. The whipped cream was lightly sweetened and the lady fingers were soaked with just the right amount of espresso and not bitter at all. I also loved the light dusting of cinnamon on top too!
