The Grove Restaurant Review – Hobe Sound, FL

Nestled just off Bridge Road in Hobe Sound, The Grove Cucina & Wine has quickly earned its place as one of the Treasure Coast’s most beloved culinary gems. Since opening in 2019, this scratch kitchen has wowed locals and visitors alike with its rustic charm, masterful flavors, and warm, upscale atmosphere. Behind this standout spot are husband-and-wife team Luis and Jen Reyneri, whose passion for food and wine is the heartbeat of the restaurant.

The couple’s journey began more than 20 years ago in Orlando. Fueled by a shared love for wine, they spent time abroad exploring the world’s most renowned wine regions—Italy, France, Spain, and Germany—before returning to Florida with a vision to create something special. Their global perspective and refined palate shine through in every detail at The Grove.

Luis, the executive chef and an Advanced Sommelier, curates a robust and ever-evolving wine list of over 250 selections, with a strong focus on Italian and French varietals. The wine list also includes exceptional bottles from New Zealand, Chile, and Germany, making it one of the most impressive selections in the area. It’s no surprise that The Grove earned its first Award of Excellence just one year after opening.

Breaded Zucchini Straws: The Grove’s menu is filled with bright, fresh flavors and elevated comfort food. One of the first dishes I sampled was the zucchini appetizer—light, crisp, and kissed with lemon, it’s the kind of starter that sets the tone for the meal ahead.

Margherita pizza with thin crispy crust at The Grove Cucina & Wine in Hobe Sound, Florida

Margherita Pizza: Their Margherita Pizza was another standout: zesty, fresh, and perfectly balanced. The thin, crispy crust had that rustic, old-world flair that made each bite satisfying without being heavy. While the cauliflower crust (available upon request) isn’t made in-house, the rest of the menu is a tribute to scratch cooking with sauces and ingredients made fresh daily.

Bucatini Cacio e Pepe: One of the most memorable dishes of the night was the Cacio e Pepe—a warm and peppery bowl of bliss. It was both simple and soulful, the sharpness of the pepper beautifully offset by the rich Parmesan. It’s the kind of dish that brings you comfort with every bite and was my favorite dish.

Pappardelle Bolognese: An equally impressive dish was the Lamb Pappardelle Bolognese. The ground lamb was cooked to tender perfection, delivering a hearty, earthy flavor that was bold enough to be exciting without overpowering the palate.

Amaretto Tiramisu: This elegant twist on the classic Italian dessert struck a perfect balance between chocolate and coffee, with a sophisticated twist and beautiful presentation. The Amaretto Tiramisu’s layers were soaked with rich espresso and a luscious mascarpone cream infused with the nutty sweetness of Amaretto. Each bite was a harmonious blend of bold coffee and smooth chocolate, topped with a dusting of cocoa and a presentation that was almost too pretty to eat.

Cappuccino with cinnamon at The Grove Cucina & Wine in Hobe Sound, Florida

I wrapped up the evening with a cappuccino that delivered a robust roast, velvety foam, and just a hint of cinnamon—a wonderful end to a delicious and thoughtfully crafted meal.
