First Impressions & Atmosphere

I visited with my mom on a rainy evening last month, and it was exactly the kind of cozy, comforting spot you hope to find on a day like that. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by mismatched picture frames filled with vintage Italian photos and posters, along with tables dressed in nostalgic red-and-white gingham tablecloths. Mixed chairs and the casual yet thoughtful decor add to the charm, making it feel warm, familiar, and just a little bit like home.

Elderflower Spritzer

The staff was immediately welcoming, which set the tone for the entire evening. I kicked things off with the Elderflower Spritzer—light, refreshing, and not too sweet. The floral notes were subtle and balanced perfectly, making it a drink I’d happily order again. Behind my glass sat a can of crushed tomatoes, not as decoration, but filled with warm bread and oil. That surprise instantly won me over. Bread before dinner is always the way to my heart.

Roasted Porchetta & Organic Beet Salad

For an appetizer, I couldn’t resist the Roasted Porchetta, a garlic-toasted sourdough focaccia with stracciatella, grape tomatoes, and pesto. The combination of tangy sourdough, creamy cheese, and fresh, herby toppings was unforgettable. Next up was the Organic Beet Salad with baby arugula, goat cheese, orange, almonds, and a citrus dressing. While I don’t usually gravitate toward goat cheese, it balanced the sweetness and citrus beautifully, making this dish perfect for a hot Florida day when you’re craving something bright and refreshing.

Butternut Squash Tortellini

Then came the entrées, and they did not disappoint. The Butternut Squash Tortellini was made in-house, cooked perfectly al dente, and filled with a rich, savory-sweet blend that never tipped into overly sugary territory. Topped with Parmigiano and crispy Brussels sprouts, it was a well-balanced plate that checked all the boxes.

Braised Short Ribs

Braised short ribs at Trattoria Bella Palm Bay

But the true standout of the night was the Braised Short Ribs served over Parmesan risotto and finished with gravy. The ribs were fall-apart tender, with deep, savory flavor that paired beautifully with the creamy risotto. This is the dish I’ll recommend to anyone visiting. It’s a must-order!

Tiramisu

To end on a sweet note, we shared the most charming Tiramisu, presented in a flower pot with a garnish that made it look like fresh soil. Beyond the presentation, it was deliciously moist and had just the right mix of coffee and chocolate flavor.

Why Trattoria Bella is Worth a Visit

Trattoria Bella nails the classic Italian flavors while adding their own thoughtful spin. No gimmicks—just honest, delicious food made with care. This family-owned Italian restaurant is led by Chef Fabrizio Pintus, originally from Milan, who brings together flavors from across Italy’s many regions. Having been to Italy myself, I can honestly say this is the closest resemblance I’ve found in Brevard County. I’ll definitely be back, and next time, the Pecorino Cheese Wheel is at the top of my list.
