A Taste of Excellence: Exploring Sun Market Sauce Co. Supper Club
Sun Market Sauce Co (1910 Old Dixie Hwy. In Vero Beach) is looking to offer the “Supper Club” experience, where you get a private, customized, delicious multi-course meal with your group (family, friends, coworkers, clients) as you sit around the large 20 seat capacity, square wooden table, perfect for conversations. Chef Michele Hennessy, a transplant from Connecticut, and her friend, Alexa are the masterminds behind this venture, and it has held a special place in Michele’s heart for quite a long time. A supper club experience offers more than just a meal; it’s a journey into culinary excellence and social delight. With its intimate ambiance, carefully curated menus, and personalized service, a supper club invites guests to savor every moment, fostering connections over exquisite food and shared experiences. It’s an opportunity to indulge in fine dining in a relaxed setting, creating memories that linger long after the last course has been served.
This intimate, flexible space has a vibe that is inviting and unique; one can picture dressing it up or down depending on the situation, and it’s still working beautifully. I had the privilege of attending an inaugural “Supper Club” experience recently, and while there I sensed the strong, familial ties present around that table, with the Hennessy clan sharing easy laughter and warm smiles. Michele breezed in with each course, brimming with excitement as she described what was being placed in front of us. It is clear she loves what she does, and we were all eager to see what’s next! Here’s a peek!
Amuse-Bouche – Smoked salmon bite on crostini, with fresh grated lemon and parsley. That first crunchy bite had me hooked, as the smoky salmon gently paired up with the kiss of lemon zest.
Course One – Chicken and fig “stew” over arugula and topped with Gorgonzola. Each spoonful revealed a delightful harmony of textures and tastes – the tender chicken, the yielding figs, all coming together in a blissful union.
Course Two – Potato purée soup, which was seasoned perfectly, and had a velvety, smooth body.
Course Three – NY Prime with parsnip purée, lemon butter Brussels sprouts and shiitake mushroom sauce. As you cut into the steak and take that first delectable bite, you’re greeted by a harmony of flavors and textures – the succulent meat, the creamy parsnip purée, and the decadent mushroom sauce all coming together in perfect balance. It’s a dish that delights the senses and leaves you longing for just one more bite, savoring every moment of culinary bliss. This course was paired perfectly with a Cabernet Franc.
Course Four – A palate cleanser of freshly shredded iceberg lettuce and shredded apple with house made dressing of lime and orange juice. Simple, refreshing, but bold enough to be interesting!
Course Five – “Chocolate Two Ways” was a fabulous mousse (almost like ganache) on a flourless chocolate bottom with a vanilla whipped cream, raspberries, and a toffee crumble. Decadent? Yes, and with a cappuccino on the side, it was the perfect finale to this delightful dinner.
