Ume Grill Express Restaurant Review – Vero Beach, FL

Hi, it’s Jackson Harbin! I just checked out Ume Grill Express, at the intersection of SR 60 and 43rd Ave in Vero Beach, Florida. This spot is awesome! It’s a quick-service restaurant owned by Cindy Yin. They whip up everything fresh, from poke bowls to my personal fave, their steak fried rice. And let me tell you, it’s all cooked up just right and seasoned perfectly. This place is super popular, especially for folks in a rush ’cause you can get a tasty meal to go quickly. They’ve got all the Japanese classics you love, plus some extras like noodles and edamame.

Now let’s see what me and my family had to eat!

Miso Soup as prepared by Ume Grill Express located in Vero Beach Florida

Miso Soup – This classic appetizer tastes very earthy with a hint of umami. The soup was very delectable and I enjoyed the consistency of it. It has seaweed and soft tofu. It is the perfect appetizer before you enjoy the rest of your lunch or dinner.

Steak Fried Rice as prepared by Ume Grill Express located in Vero Beach Florida

Steak Fried Rice – This dish is my favorite and has a great hibachi flavor with an American twist. The steak was cooked to order, and the fried rice had the right amount of soy sauce. The vegetables, including the onions and peppers, go perfectly with the eggs and rice.

Fried Shrimp as prepared by Ume Grill Express located in Vero Beach Florida

Fried Shrimp – This fried delicacy has a sweet and crunchy texture. The breading is salty and goes perfectly with the shrimp. This appetizer was lightly coated with an Asian panko and fried to perfection.

Teriyaki Chicken Lo Mein – This is my sister’s favorite dish at a Japanese restaurant is served with a bowl full of noodles and pieces of seasoned chicken on top. The noodles had a delicate flavor and a chewy (in a good way) texture. The chicken was marinated in teriyaki sauce and then lightly seasoned before grilling. The flavor and texture were perfect!

Next time you are in the area, I highly recommend you stop by and check this place out!

Jackson Harbin

Hi, I’m Jackson Harbin and I am obsessed all things food. Not only do I love cooking and baking at home, I enjoy eating out and meeting restaurant owners. Born and raised in Vero Beach, I think this town has some of the best restaurants in the state. I have critiqued food from a kid’s perspective for 4 years and I am excited to expand to The Treasure Coast Foodie. My passion and blogs have been followed on Facebook and Instagram by so many people I can’t even count. I am here to tell you about the best restaurants in my opinion and the ones I have yet to try. I prefer to eat local, however, I am always open to suggestions.
