Vittorio’s Pizza Italian Restaurant Review in Vero Beach, FL
Vittorio’s Pizza has a whole lot more to offer than just pizza! With two locations (Vero Beach and Sebastian) and a wide variety of offerings, Vittorio’s might just be the next spot you need to check out when you’re in the mood for casual, affordable Italian entrees, and pizzas, all in a very clean and bright space.
Vittorio’s prides itself on their dough being made fresh daily, as well as using the finest Italian cheeses available. They also offer a few specialty bottled drinks (root beer, cream sodas, and the like) as well as beer and wine. Appetizers include things like truffle parmigiana fries, zucchini fries, cauliflower bites, and garlic knots. Main dishes, other than the pizzas, feature calzones, lasagna, eggplant parmesan, salads, stromboli, and pizza rolls.
I enjoyed meeting the General Manager Ashley Perkins, who shared that Vittorio’s Vero Beach location has been around for two years. The brick oven is a Baker’s Pride oven, and it does its magic for them as it produces a crisp crust flecked with tell-tale charred spots. A brick oven produces a pizza whose interior dough is soft, tender, and fragrant, and the toppings are cooked to perfection in a 700-degree (or hotter) oven.
I visited the Vero Beach location, on Oslo Road next to the Winn-Dixie Shopping Plaza. The Sebastian location is on U.S. Hwy 1. Here’s what my crew had to eat:
Cauliflower Bites – The cauliflower is tossed in a mild buffalo sauce after being lightly breaded, and it was served with Ranch dressing for dipping. It was a big hit! The cauliflower was not mushy and overcooked (which tends to be a concern with appetizers like this one), and it was a deep golden brown color. I’d order this again next time!
Lasagna – Very traditionally made, a nice size portion and nice layering of ingredients.
Stromboli – Abundant filling, a nicely balanced mix of meats and cheeses. Not too doughy, thick enough to hold it all together, and a nice crisp on the outside.
White Spinach Pizza – The pizza delivered on all the points a brick oven promises. I wish we would’ve gotten some more varied toppings on it, as they boast a nice list of toppings options.
Eggplant Parmesan – The eggplant was a generous portion, with penne pasta on the side. The layers were nice and thin, but I thought the flavor could’ve used a little boost for my personal taste.
Fried Nutella Pizza – Warm Nutella drizzled on a dough base and topped with mini marshmallows! Tasty!
