Cap’s Pizza Restaurant Review: Serving Vero Beach for Over 35 Years

I recently visited Caps’ Pizza and Pub in Vero Beach. People always ask me where is a good “hole in the wall” restaurant is, and without a doubt, this is one of them! This place is known for handmade style pizza, juicy chicken wings, and Italian-made dinners.

Inside the restaurant, the atmosphere is cool, and welcoming, and gives you a hometown vibe. Also, they have a Pac-Man game where kids can play while the adults are waiting for dinner. The kids can also play music on the jukebox.

Let’s see what this pizza joint has to offer and what I had to eat!

deep fried chicken wings coated with mild buffalo sauce, served with a side of ranch dressing from cap's pizza and pub in vero beach florida

Cap’s Chicken Wings – We ordered the wings with mild Buffalo sauce and ranch. The chicken was super juicy and the sauce had a perfect amount of spice. The ranch was a great way to cool off the spice of the wings. One of my favorite parts is to dip my French fries in the Buffalo sauce.

meatball sub sandwich served with french fries and a side of marinara sauce from cap's pizza and pub located in vero beach florida

Meatball Sub – This American classic was made with meatballs, topped with mozzarella cheese, and served on a perfectly baked hoagie roll. The meatballs were tender and tasted like they were made in an Italian grandmother’s kitchen. To finish it off, it was sprinkled with Parmesan and parsley. The sub was so huge that I had to take half of it home for lunch the next day.

a medium meat lovers pizza from cap's pizza and pub in vero beach florida

Meat Lovers’ Pizza – This pizza has a variety of meats and lots of cheese which is the perfect combo! When you take a bite, you can taste the bacon, sausage, ham, and pepperoni with the soft, yet crispy crust. There are so many toppings that just one slice just might fill you up. Even though Caps is known for its spinach pizza, I chose meat lovers because I am not a fan of veggies on pizza.

A slice of key lime pie served at cap's pizza and pub, but made by CW Willis Family Farms, both located in vero beach florida

CW Willis Key Lime Pie – This Florida classic dessert was made by the new CW Willis Family Farms Market. This pie was tart and the filling had a mild citrus flavor and was also very creamy.

Jackson Harbin

Hi, I’m Jackson Harbin and I am obsessed all things food. Not only do I love cooking and baking at home, I enjoy eating out and meeting restaurant owners. Born and raised in Vero Beach, I think this town has some of the best restaurants in the state. I have critiqued food from a kid’s perspective for 4 years and I am excited to expand to The Treasure Coast Foodie. My passion and blogs have been followed on Facebook and Instagram by so many people I can’t even count. I am here to tell you about the best restaurants in my opinion and the ones I have yet to try. I prefer to eat local, however, I am always open to suggestions.

  1. Hi Jackson…You should come to Fort Pierce and try Chef Adam’s expertise on his cooking. A little hole in the wall on Depot drive is S&S cafe. You get 5 courses from appetizer to dessert for $30.
