Vero Prime Restaurant Review

As I was working on the Most Romantic Restaurants in Indian River County article, I tried a few additional dishes so I could do a more Indepth article about Vero Prime. While this isn’t my first time here, it is my first time reviewing them. When a good quality steak comes to mind, Vero Prime is one of the most suggested restaurants in the area. Located in the heart of downtown Vero Beach, they offer a wonderful selection of dry aged steaks, fresh seafood, and a few Italian dishes from a previous restaurant (Avanzare) that used to occupy the same space. All grilled items are cooked over a real wood fired grill that adds a whole new level of flavor! If you are looking for a romantic date night experience, I recommend a booth near the front window so you can have a great view of the Theater Plaza all lit up at night or sit near the “fireplace” for wonderful ambiance!

Now let’s dive right in and see what this place has to offer and what I had to eat!

Front Entrance off 14th Ave
Dining Room
Fire Grilled Caesar – Grilled romaine, Caesar dressing, parmesan. This is the first time I’ve tried a fire grilled Caesar, so I didn’t know what to expect. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I figured it would wilt the lettuce from the high heat and make it soft, but it was still quite crisp. It had a subtle smokey flavor from the grill and just the perfect amount of dressing on it.
Dirty Gulf Oysters – Topped with Creme Fraiche and Lumpfish Caviar. While most of you know I’m not a huge fan of oysters, I must say these were some of the freshest tasting oysters I’ve had in a while.
Surf & Turf (Filet & Lobster) – I asked for the filet to be cooked mid-rare, and that is what I got. The steak was also super tender and just melted in my mouth. The Lobster tail was fluffed on the shell and broiled perfectly and was served with a side of clarified butter.
Black Cherry Ricotta Cheesecake – One of my all-time favorite desserts, this one did not disappoint. The cheesecake was very creamy with a bold black cherry flavor. It was so good!
My view of the Theater Plaza as I was leaving the restaurant.
